If like me you have been buying tissue masks from different brands and using them on your face then you have been using face masks all wrongly.
Firstly be very careful of the type of face mask you buy. Face masks like any other product is created to provide that added benefit which your skin is not able to naturally produce or solve. So if your skin has wrinkles then buy an anti-ageing mask, or if it is dull then a vitamin C brightening mask, dehydrated skin then a hydrating face mask and so on.
Secondly if your skin is oily or extremely sensitive then you should seldom use a face mask. Only use it if it has been recommended by your dermatologist or after doing a lot of research.
Thirdly, do not use the face mask for more than 15-20 mins on your face. I know you want to keep it on as long as possible to get your money's worth, this is something that I also was doing. But this will just reverse the effects, once the mask starts drying up it absorbs moisture from your skin and dries your skin up.
Lastly and more importantly, do not buy face masks from random stores just because they look exciting and are cheap. If you have tried and tested some face masks and they work well on your skin then continue using them. DON'T EXPERIMENT!
The purpose of any tissue face mask is to provide a burst of hydration with some added benefits. It is good for keeping your skin hydrated through out the day but it is not a permanent solution to your skin problems. For a permanent solution I suggest you invest in some serums, creams or other products.
